Yealink T3x/T5x IP Phone

Setup guide for Yealink T33, T53, T57, and T58 business IP phones. Configure your phone for your VoIP provider in minutes.

Setup steps

  1. 1Unpack the phone and attach the handset and antenna. Connect the Ethernet cable from your network to the 'Network' port on the back of the phone.
  2. 2Plug the power adapter into the phone (or use PoE if available). The phone will boot and display the home screen within 30-45 seconds.
  3. 3Press the OK button in the center of the navigation pad. The phone will display its IPv4 address on screen. Note this address down (example: 192.168.1.50).
  4. 4On a computer connected to the same network, open a web browser and navigate to the phone's IP address (example: http://192.168.1.50).
  5. 5Log in using default credentials: Username 'admin' and password 'admin'. You should now see the phone's web configuration page.
  6. 6Click on 'VoIP' or 'Accounts' in the left menu. Enter your SIP server, SIP username, and SIP password provided by your VoIP provider. Leave other fields at defaults unless instructed by your provider.
  7. 7Go to Settings > Basic > Network > IPv4. Choose 'DHCP' for automatic network assignment or 'Static' with a fixed IP address. Click 'Confirm' to save.
  8. 8After saving, the phone will reboot automatically. This takes 2-3 minutes. Wait for the screen to stabilize and show 'Registered' or the account status.
  9. 9Test the phone by making a short test call. If successful, your setup is complete. If there are issues, check that the SIP registration shows as 'Active' in the web interface.

Troubleshooting

Phone displays 'Unregistered' and shows no dial tone+

Double-check your SIP server address, username, and password in the web interface VoIP settings. Yealink is case-sensitive for passwords. Try rebooting the phone by unplugging the power for 10 seconds and plugging it back in. Contact your VoIP provider to confirm the account is active and that they support Yealink phones.

Can't log into the web interface or browser times out+

Ensure the Ethernet cable is connected properly. Try a different cable if available. Press OK on the phone's keypad to verify the IP address hasn't changed. Clear your browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+Delete in Chrome) and try again. If still unable to connect, factory reset the phone: Press Menu > Settings > Advanced > Reset and enter password 'admin'.

Phone receives calls but can't dial out or calls fail immediately+

This usually indicates an outbound proxy issue or firewall blocking the SIP port. In the web interface, go to VoIP settings and enable 'Send Keep-Alive' to maintain the connection through NAT. Ask your VoIP provider if an outbound proxy (SIP proxy) is required. Some providers need this configured to route calls correctly.

Audio quality is poor, choppy, or calls drop after a few minutes+

Check your network bandwidth is at least 100 Kbps per call. Reduce background network activity (streaming, downloads). In the web interface, enable 'NAT Traversal' under SIP Settings. Ensure your router's QoS (Quality of Service) isn't limiting VoIP traffic.

Forgot the web interface password+

Factory reset the phone: Menu > Settings > Advanced > Reset > Enter 'admin' as the password. The phone will reboot with default password 'admin' restored. You can then log back into the web interface and reconfigure your VoIP settings.

Pro tips

  • Always configure a static IP address for desk phones to prevent the configuration from being lost if the DHCP lease renews.
  • The T58W model includes a color touchscreen—you can customize the home screen and add application shortcuts through the web interface.
  • Enable HD voice (Opus or G.722 codec) in the SIP settings for better call quality if your VoIP provider supports it. Most modern providers do.
  • Set up a backup SIP server in the 'Secondary SIP Server' field if your provider offers one—this enables automatic failover if the primary server is down.
