Bring your own key
Your site’s AI features (the assistant, Auto-Blog, and ad drafts) run on your own AI key — never ours — so usage is billed to your account and stays under your control. You can connect OpenRouter (one key, many models, including free ones), OpenAI (ChatGPT), or Anthropic (Claude).
Adding and managing keys
- 1Add a key during the AI step of the builder, or later in the Manage console under "Your AI keys".
- 2Choose the provider, paste the key, and optionally label it.
- 3Mark one key Primary — that is the one your site uses by default.
- 4Add a backup key from another provider for resilience if one is down.
- 5Remove or re-designate keys any time; keys are always shown masked.
Choosing a provider per task
In the marketing portal and the assistant, a "Choose your AI" bar shows each provider as Connected or Not connected — it only ever shows the connection status, never the key value. Pick the provider you want for that draft or chat.
If no key is connected
With no key connected, AI features show a "connect your AI key" state and fall back to a strong built-in template so the site still works. We never quietly use our own key for your site.
