Two outcomes from the builder
When a prospect finishes the /websites/builder wizard, they either generate a self-serve preview or submit for a custom build. Both save a draft site (reachable at /s/its-id); the difference is what happens next.
Self-serve previews
A "Build my site for approval" run saves the site with a built status and hands the prospect their own preview link and a live Square pay link to go live. No further action is required from us unless they ask for help.
Custom-build requests
- 1A "Submit for custom build" run saves the draft with a submitted status.
- 2It also drops a tagged lead through the standard contact pipeline, with the industry, chosen tier and build price, business details, the draft preview link, and whether the customer supplied their own AI key.
- 3Follow up from that lead, open the draft preview as the starting point, and finish the build.
Keys stay the customer’s
Builder sites run AI on the customer’s own stored key, never Jon’s environment keys. If a custom-build lead notes no AI key on file, advise the customer on bringing one (or arrange managed keys) rather than pointing the site at our keys.
